Calendar of Events
There are a variety of events taking place within our Baha'i community. Some of the events occur regularly while others are just one time occurrences. Here is a brief description of some of the regularly occurring events.
The 19 Day Spiritual Feast: This Spiritual Feast is an event that occurs on the first day of each month of the Baha'i calendar, which has 19 months in total, each of 19 days. The purpose of the Feast is so Baha'is can gather together to show hospitality and fellowship and become Spiritually renewed for the coming month. It is also a time for the local Baha’i community to share its views with the Local Spiritual Assembly regarding the affairs of the community. Only Spiritual Assemblies can host The 19 Day Feast as it is recognized as an institution of the Faith. There is no Local Spiritual Assembly in Stirling-Rawdon therefore the Feasts we hold are not official administrative events but they still provide an excellent means of giving spiritual renewal to all of the Baha’is in our community.
Holy Days: There are eleven Holy Days throughout the year. Nine of these Holy Days require work, or school, to be suspended. A gathering is organized to commemorate each Holy Day. Everyone is welcome to attend any of the Holy Day gatherings.
Ayyam-i-Ha: This is a special time of year for Baha’is. It is a time used for celebrating God, contributing to charity, exchanging gifts, and hosting parties. It occurs annually from February 26th through March 1st. It is also a time of preparation for the month of The Fast which starts on March 2nd and lasts for the duration of the last month of the year.
There are also various study groups and devotional gatherings happening throughout the community. Click Here for to view a copy the current activities.
